an inquisitive mood
« on: October 11, 2009, 08:48:27 PM »
Just curious what everyone is up to.  I could list some names - Alister, Narissa, Krill, Uwoiame, Brigantia, Dunccan, Diocletian, Elmak, Sajora, Fig, Salvador, India, Zatarina, Alexadra, Zenichiro, Zuul, Ester, Tukar, Esprii, Trakea, August, Lightfingers, Fizzy, Ahlara - but if I haven't listed your name it isn't because I don't want to know.  I do. I really do.  Like a stalker.

Talk.

Yourself.

What's up?

The floor is yours.

(Did I list anyone twice?)

Huh.  I made some auspicious company.  I don't know whether to be flattered or scared.  Your subtle "where the heck are you guys" made me smile at least, so here's my answer.  I wish I had some sort of interesting story to tell.  Along the lines of I've been traveling in Tibet and hiking mountains and joined the peace corps.

However - the truth is much more mundane.  The brainchild behind the Ester P. Snodgrass you know, and maybe love, maybe hate, maybe feel completely indifferent about -whatever - has a kicking, screaming snot nosed, 2 year old, who simultaneously, is the smartest, most bestest child ever and has discovered the joys of the word "No".  Between the kiddo, tantrums, the house, the hubby, and working 8-5 or so every day, spare time is at a premium.  Maybe after pre-school kicks in, I'll have some self time again...  I can only hope...

Miss you all and hope you're happy.

Nora.

Hmm. I guess I haven't been in the lands as much as I used to, but that is about to change. I have just quit my job and started school, so I will have more time off to walk around the lands.

Zatarina's buisness in the lands took a turn as she got upset about people talking around with two, or even three, faces. Seconds and thirds of the same person allowed to vote in elections made her furious. So she left Parrius, her captaincy and state ministry. She did it to prove a point, but found out that she still loves Parrius very much, and settled back inside the city, taking over the almost dying enchanters. She is trying to get people back into her first guild, to make it bloom again.

So if there's something else going on you'd like to talk about, you could just ask!
"Let them eat cake!" she said. Just like Marie Antoinette.

Hiiiiiii Isen. I moved back to California, was doing research for architecture and engineering firms, but now I work through a contractor for Sony, in the Playstation department. I'm dating a Japanese surfer who's a talented (4 instruments!) musician; he's just started a new project with his friends so hopefully they will be doing the club scene soon. I'm going to do their merchandising and help with PR if it gets off the ground. :D

I'm learning how to cook a lot of stuff, apparently with impressive results, so I usually feed the boy and his pals on weekends...so I've upgraded to hours of RL cooking and mothering of a group of men, instead of hours of virtual meal-making and mothering of a guild of male thieves. :P

That's about it. Nothing insanely exciting.

As for Krill, he's still in London. He survived the worst spell of the economy (he works in banking) and still spends far too much time being sucked in by EVIL WoW. Bad Krill.

Thanks Zatarina and Narissa!  At the risk of embarrassing myself I want to say that when i think about it it makes me sad to know that I can't see, and learn and grow with, and congratulate, and change the world with people i've spent a lot of time with in game.  I suppose it's challenging to do some of those things with people who are near you geographically .

So while I don't really know most of the people I played with in Avalon, I find myself missing them.

God, I sound like a cry baby.  Okay, i'm not thinking about you -that- much.  Just when it comes to mind.

XOXO to the denizens of Avalon

That's very sweet to say, Isen. Given how much time and growth we spend and get from the game, it's somewhat natural, if not the norm, to feel that way a bit. :)

As a small update, if anyone was wondering why I haven't been on msn in a monthish, I was in a car accident a little while ago, some bones are broken, but they gave me nice amounts of vicodin and my man is looking after me very gallantly. It's not as good as wurtfoil and a Druid, but it's working nicely!
