The Life and Times of Chasity as told and viewed by Chasity
« on: April 24, 2009, 03:39:30 PM »
Awoken one night on the dark ,sewage filled streets of Thakra, by the drunkened shouts of a thief gang in a nearby ally, a young orphan girl set off in search of any sort of food and clothing to protect her from the cold winter winds.

Chasity, as her parents had affectionately called her, wandered from home to home begging for help to little avail from her citymates. She heard rumour that in a nearby enemy city there lived good people, who had food and clothing waiting for the orphans of avalon. So after waiting for the cover of night, Chasity snuck out the city gates to venture forth to the unknown

It took Chasity a few days to reach the homeland of Mercinae; She was met at the Gate by a great Mage named Algernon, who gave her a warm smile and did not look to judge her for the condition she was in. He offered her clothing and food, and a home in both the city and his guild, to which Chasity soon excepted.

She was soon on her way training and learning daily in her guild as a apprentice, Chasity coming from a common background struggled with her studies and was soon taken under the wing of a fellow Mage by the name of Furion. Furion took a liking to Chasity, cared for her a great deal as soon he and his Betrolthed, A Ranger Bear by the name of Kalista De Fabritiis, took her as their daughter.

It was in the time that Chasity was introduced to the concept of time, and became facinated by its ways and followers. She soon grew a great affection for the Lord of time and set out to make it her journey to become worthy enough to be honoured with being allowed into his order as a follower of time.

She soon became Daughter of Time, Chasity de Fabritiis

After some time as a happy family, Chasity's parents had a falling out. Chasity's Mother disappeared into the greenwood. and Chasity's father soon turned cold and dark and evil. He soon seeked to venture out to a knew home in the darkened city of thakria, from which Chasity had fled as a young girl.

To prove his worthiness to join the evil city and join in the ranks of the dark, Furion was asked to estrange himself from his daughter and slay her repeatidly to prove his loyalty to the dark side.

Chasity had been on the riverbank that fateful evening, when her father approached without word, and proceeded to take her life over and over. It was in that moment, that a light of shining hope came upon her.

From the south entered a great Mercanian Knight and Leader by the name of Khashakin. He saved chasity from the torture that had become her and sent Furion running cowardly back to the gates of Thakria.

Khashakin A Baron, and State Minister of Mercinae took it upon himself to safeguard the young magess from her evil father. He would take her everywhere with him, teaching her both the ways of defence and offence, but also teaching her how to grow to become a good leader, and aide in running a city.

They became very close and not long after he declared his love for the young magess and asked her hand in marriage.

She became his best friend and right hand in aiding with running the city. Soon they both gave up their perspective professions to join the Alchemists guild to be loremasters together.

Khashakin came to her one evening , a long face across him. He told her that the city stocks had become devistatingly low on fish, and someone would soon need to venture off to the great Oceans of the beyond or the city would suffer certain hunger.

Khashakin ventured off that evening in journey to the great oceans with little more than a sack of a half-eaten lunch, cake, and a bottle of tizer.

Chasity, soon rose in ranks and took up his posts as the new Baron and State Minister of Mercinae. She also rose quickly in the ranks of the Alchemists, and soon took the Position of Guild Mistress. Though very young and very busy, Chasity did not mind all the titles and responsibility that kept her mind away from Khashakin who had been seemingly lost to the Ocean.

Chasity after attacked one evening defending her city was horribly raped by a evil bear by the name of Belgadeth, which her not only scared but pregnant

Chasity soon had a beautiful daughter by the name of Sabine, who Chasity adored to no end. Sabine developed her mothers features and beauty and stubborn strive for indepence. while keeping much of the rebellion of her father in her.

After many years at sea, Khashakin did return home to the city of light, but Chasity's heart had changed. she no longer felt for him as she once did, her love being more involved with her civic duties and daughter.

Chasity and Khashakin had a terrible falling out after khashakin left the alchemists to become a bear. there where many fights and arguments before one big fight that brought a end to their relationship and friendship. Both infault for some of the heartful things that were said, they went their seperate ways.

Khashakin soon disappeared into the mountains of Sapience after leaving the city they had called home, as Chasity moved on with her studies and civic duty.

Chasity soon found a new love in a man by the name of Tazius, a old craftmaster from the city of Sringdale, who had recently returned to the lands from a adventure afar. She was attracted by their similar busy lifestyles, and pleased to be with someone who didnt require much attention or effort to be with.

Tazius and Chasity soon had a daughter of their own, who they called Alathenia. Alathenia was a very affectionate and playful daughter who both Tazius and Chasity cherished greatly.

one evening a little girl arrived to avalon and wandered the streets of every city, prophecing the return of a great wizard who would hold a great impact on the land. little did Chasity know at the time the impact this would hold on her.

Tazius and Chasity grew distant and Tazius' time in land became less and less as they grew further and further apart.

The great wizard, Elminster did indeed soon return to land. He sought out Chasity almost immediatly. He told her his fate and destiny had led him back to the lands, and to her.

flattered, flustered, and charmed by his poise, Chasity became easily infatuated with the old wizard. finding herself delegating her chores and duties more and more to journey to springdale to visit with him and to explore a romantic side of herself she had not previously known.

Chasity also soon adopted a son named Arrcor; Orphaned and living in the city schools. she admired his spunk and potiential, and grew very affectionate towards the young lad. She took him under her wing as a alchemist .

On another front back in Mercinae, Chasity's profession had gone to war with the thief profession. Chasity was forced to make some hard decisions that led her through a very turmoilish part of her past.

Chasity signed, by a majority vote of her beloved guild, and proffessional agreement that would ban loremaster services to all of the thief profession until they could agree to stop breaking into guild shops, houses, and to stop the slaughter and stripping and theivery of young loremasters.

This effected the city of Mercinae, because 2 of Chasity's fellow Barons, and the Duke of Mercinae were all Theives and Chasity's friends.

They felt that Chasity had betrayed them, for refusing them services and innercity tension and turmoil soon grew to a head.

Chasity couldnt understand how so many in her city, outside of her guild and profession could turn on her so easily for taking a stand on behalf of her guild against the theives profession, who were after all by choice theives. She didnt think that that all theives deserved immunity from punishment because they chose to have one guild with no city loyalties. Therefore forcing her to ban all theives under one guild who were fighting against her guild and her profession verses non-mercanian thieves guilds.

Chasity was soon stripped of all her titles and her home of mercinae buy the rath of her fellow barons who were of the majority of the Theives guild. She was branded a enemy for her choice to sign the thief ban.

Chasity wandered in the streets outside the walls of Mercinae for a few years, as the majority of the towns people who believed in her and her cause rallied for her return, and the removal of the brand against her name.

Chasity began to receive word by messangers of other propositions of citizenship to other cities who desired to have one of her education, and level amongst their ranks.

It was not a very hard decision for Chasity, who soon packed up all her belongings and her youngest daughter, Alathenia to build a new home in the city of Springdale with the Wizard she loved.

Chasity stepped down as Guildmistress of the Alchemists, passing the reigns on to her daughter Sabine, who had grown up and decided to remain a citizen of Mercinae along with her son Arrcor. She and Alathenia both became craftmasters, like Alathenia father, Tazius.

Chasity quickly rose in ranks of both the city and the guild of her new home, taking over the State Ministry and a seat on the Barony.

despite a small falling out and a strong difference of opinion with the current GM of the Craftmasters and its guild Patron; Chasity was able to move forward and raise to the ranks of Deputy Guildmistress, and Head Tutor, after Tazius and the Lord Mephisto returned from slumber to reclaim their guild.

Arrcor followed her later to Springdale, bringing with him, his betrolthed, a girl who would become like a daughter to Chasity, Lightwardblue.

Chasity was also soon honoured with the title of Quest Mistress of Springdale

Now days, Chasity can still be found around Springdale, working hard in her duties as a Minister, Locksmith, Baron, Loremaster, Quest Mistress, Forger, Merchant, or Captain for and with people she has come to love with a great devotion and loyalty, who share and return that love for her.

In her free time, which is often very rare, you might catch her at her cottage home for tea or a friendly visit, on the Lake that she still shares with her old man Wizard.

Living her life, looking forward to every new adventure that awaits her with the people she loves to share it with.

She still follows Time, and romour has it, that if she is patient enough, one day she just might find a place amongst his followers.

Oh, minor edit problem here Chasity...
Chasity stepped down as Guildmistress of the Craftmasters,

You might want to fix that to the correct guild, eh?

Other than that, its a nice sum up of your life.

I wouldn't say I was a great Mercinean Knight, but I'll admit to being the following:

Master of all things chocolate, naughtiest of naughty Waifites, bestest of all the Snodgrasses, slayer of Dullness and Bearer of the great Wizard hat of avalon and perhaps the Polka Dot Bikini Wearing Bear when the bearform days return. *muwahaha*

Interesting story, good read

A couple of corrections:

Quote
Chasity was soon stripped of all her titles and her home of mercinae buy the rath of her fellow barons who were of the majority of the Theives guild.

Chasity was removed from the position of State Minister in Mercinae for abusing the powers that came with the position. She entered the stockroom of a citizen and removed and damaged items that he had for sale there.

From Mercinae city post 15799:

Quote
Subj: Chasity and State.

Today I have removed the office of Minister of State from Chasity.

As actioned she entered the stockroom of a citizens shop and unravelled runes that he had made by his own hand using his own
comms. Her reasoning is that it is not permitted to sell certain types of runes in Mercinae shops.

It is an abuse of the privileges of the State Ministry and Justice Ministry to enter shop stockrooms and interfere with sellable
goods as a result of Guild policy.

It is essential to the welfare of all our citizens that runes are available to *all* our citizens when they need them. I won't
have people stripped of pouches because there is no Alchemist available when their anchor runes vanish each year. Shops selling
a full range of runes are necessary both for LW and others. If nothing else they reduce the number of times an Alchemist is
interrupted for services.

Chasity was not stripped of her home in Mercinae, there was no reason to eject her from the city at this stage and it would not have been possible to put a case together to do so as she had not harmed the city or its citizens, merely abused the powers available to her as an aide within one shop.

She quite simply chose to leave Mercinae.

Quote
She was branded a enemy for her choice to sign the thief ban.

Chasity was branded an enemy because the actions she took directly harmed Mercinae. The refusal to allow potions to be stocked within shops was quite frankly the last straw for the Barony and we voted to increase the pressure on the Alchemist GM to withdraw from the ban.

From Mercinae city post 15827

Quote
Subj: Loremaster Ban harms Mercinaen Citizens - Action taken.

Many of you will remember when you arrived in Mercinae one of the first things that happened is to equip you with some of the
basic items you need to start your life. Key to this are your sack and buying its protective oval, snowflake and anchor runes.
You also purchase your first three potions, health, mana and resuss and have each explained to you along with how to refer to
them by number.

This last weekend I found out that there is a ban on stocking shops with health, immunity, diffusion and allheale potions. This
meant that today, when I tried to use city commodities to get our basics starter potions for our shop I was refused.
I did not even get as far as asking for potions to be made from city commodities for our city stalls to provide equal
opportunity for all citizens.

This means that not only are we unable to equip our young ones as they start out in their life but that ordinary citizens cannot
buy that extra potion when required. Last week I had to send out a brand new LW with an unprotected sack because Ship, weight,
grip and frost runes are not supposed to be sold in shops.

How many of you are walking around with your possessions unanchored because you have not been able to buy a rune during your
playing hours? How many of you are sitting on empty potion bottles because you do not crossover timezones with a Loremaster who
can refill and there is nowhere to purchase what you need? How many of you alchemists are fed up of being pestered for services
that used to be provided through your shops?

This is the *direct* consequence of the Loremaster ban on the Theif guild instigated by Chasity, Guildmistress of the
Alchemists.

I am also saddened to inform you of the retirement of that most dedicated of Mercinaens, Algernon. The Loremaster theif ban has
its first casualty in Mercinae, one of our Barons and most senior and respected citizens, hitting Mercinae at the top.
As such and for the negative impact on Mercinae including the most vulnerable people in Mercinae, the LW, and those small
fighters below the Ult peers list I have branded Chasity enemy of Mercinae.

There was redemption at the end as Chasity did take the brave decision to remove the Alchemists from the Loremaster ban resulting in her being unenemied.

However despite Chasity's much proclaimed love for Mercinae as at this point she immediately joined Springdale and an offer of citizenship for Mercinae was rejected.

Just for clarification as to my reasoning,

Chasity enter Neidharts stockroom a fellow ALchemist

and unfashioned the forbidden runes and left the silver on the ground

because she thought he may have misunderstood the new guild policy

Chasity did admit to both India and Niedhart that she was wrong in taking the action herself to enter neidharts shop where she rather should have simply waited for him to take the action herself and apologized to Niedhart for it.

Subj: PROFESSIONAL AGREEMENT.

After a series of meetings over time, the Guildmasters of
our profession have decided on some basic guidelines for each of our guilds to follow.

We agree as a profession that we will take control of our profession once again. We shall no longer provide our skill goods for free but will abide by a set pricing. (Price list
will be posted later) This list will be prepared by the profession Guildmasters. We will charge for the following: making bottles, transmuting ores, making potions and refilling
potions, forging and forged items, charging and essencing items with magic spells and for runes and staves.

We will maintain the right to create a professional/individual blacklist by a quorum vote of each of the profession Guildmasters.

We will respect each other's guildhouses, meaning we will not break into another's guildhouse, we will not remove, shatter, explode or otherwise destroy floor runes and we will
not fell each other's guildhouse staves.

Please be advised that each Guildmaster expects the very best from each of its members. In the event there is found a loremaster professional breaking any of these rules that
discipline will follow.

The Guildmasters have agreed that the Thieves are worthy as a guild to be blacklisted from our services and goods for  crimes against our guildhouses, extortion of items
necessary for the growth of our guilds, and the undercutting of prices of our profession goods.

I posted only to correct two points in your history as they were historically inaccurate. The information I have provided includes the facts (with references to source material) that caused me and the Mercinaen Barons to strip your State Ministry and enemy you to Mercinae.

That was the only intention here.

Algernon the Thief was permanently killed while wandering somewhere near Greeny's Edge in an encounter with a sorcerer.  Algernon's ghost roamed the land briefly thereafter but even this shimmering life essence glittered away.  The account is right here.

As the one who followed his lifetime most closely, I must back up India's account of events pertaining to Chasity's departure from Mercinae.  Algernon was still a baron at that time.  There was, in fact, a motion to eject Chasity, and Algernon -- despite being homicidally angry with her for signing onto the ban and being a willing dupe of the Thakrian Loremaster GM -- voted against ejecting her.  He did, however, agree that after her adventure in Neidhart's stock room, it would no longer be appropriate for her to serve as Minister of State.

Chasity got pissed and left.  Sounds like her life has gone well since then, so good for her.

P.S. Stepping out of character, the ban was stupid and a major pain in the ass as a Mercinaean baron and thief.  It was one additional pain in the ass that tipped the scale, for me, in terms of continuing as that character.  So I cooked up a perma-death and retired the character.

I have returned to Avalon but the characters do not resemble each other and, frankly, neither the old character nor the current one believe in reincarnation, so I have not even bothered to tell them about each other.   ;)
