Lack of RP

Figured this to be the Best Place to put this.
 
But, has anyone noticed that there seems to be even more of a lack of Roleplay now then there has before?
Personally i miss it, i'd much rather roleplay something as simple as a drink at the bar to an elaborate ritual then just run around and kill things over and over.
 
I think it's due to he lack of people actually intrested, as of late i think i can relate to Algernon a bit more seeing as whenever i try and do somethin like this i get jumped and killed, or someone thinks i'm trying tokill their city mate and makes me leave.

Couldn't agree more. Honestly, when I stepped into the world, I never thought it would be so focused on killing and have a perpetual focus on player death. Sure, that's nice and all, nothing wrong with a bit of blood, but there has to be more to it than that as well.

If anyone would like to organize a little something, perhaps that would help with the situation. Mostly it seems a matter of people thinking that there's either not enough people on or that the right people aren't around. All you really need is one other willing person!

Interest in RP seemed to come in waves when I was active.  I enjoyed it, but not everyone did -- and the majority, probably, were not interested. 
 
Narissa was always consistently the best at it, but there were a few others who would play.  Sometimes msgs come in handy here -- "Hey, trying some RP here..."  But some players are not interested in RP at all, so you'll have to figure out who likes to RP as opposed to doing the interminable chat room thing.

It seems things are like that, unfortunately. Narissa hasn't been inland nearly as much and it shows with the lack of RP that goes on. As well as the city morale kind of dying down. But nonetheless i've tried to start some things up but they usually end up with someone killing me, someone else who is with me, or them running off to kill someone else.

By the looks of it, it was a tell... I'm fairly certain that most MUDs and MMOs accept that tells (which are silent except for bug runes) are OOC.

I subscribe to Ender's innate avalon roleplay philosophy, but I also question rather simply being put in a tell makes Adaryn's recent bile acceptable.

Accusations of being a second, I don't mind so much. Talking about coding, client - fine, no skin off my back. Insulting a player based on actions taken in a game(breaking into her guildhall)? That's not so cool.

Well. Wow.

What I actually said was a roleplayed version of "I need to figure out a better way to focus on all forms of communication." In other words I was talking about highlighting different comm channels to make them easier to read because the game doesn't have colour config for channels. Having been on RPEnforced too long I tend to say things like that if I'm trying to figure out mechanics and stay IC.

They were showing me some skills because I hadn't picked a guild yet and Springdale was where I ended up from the intro. I'm top tier in every IRE but ach as I never played that one, of course the first thing I'd notice was a channeled skill that takes 22 seconds, you can turn on client-side timestamps that aren't even trigger-based in CMUD.

Anyway, eventful first day I guess.
