It's also part of the Narissa legend - the girl who stole the gems from the gods is cursed to never earn one honestly! :P

Seriously, though, <3 India, and I think this made her very happy, so all is good.

Your victory party was swell, even though it was almost entirely Mercinaeans.  (I don't pick my citymates' pockets, so more representatives from other cities would have been appreciated.   :-\  )
