You can find out about Aphaia's past by reading her help file. Her father, a sea-captain and explorer was from Parrius and her mother from Mercinae. She never knew her mother who was supposedly drowned in a shipwreck. She hopes someday to find some Parrian relations.

Her childhood was spent running free in the woods and fields of Springdale and a key facet of her nature is that she is a free spirit. She should possibly not be a citizen of anywhere and that may be how she ends up, but at the moment she is happy enough to live in Springdale but spend time in Parrius with her new guild.

After leaving school, she joined the Craftmasters, but found them stagnant. When her mentor, Jashiri, moved to Mercinae, and several other guild members also departed, the youngster was once more left to her own devices. Rather than move to Mercinanae, a city she has little empathy with, she determined to survive alone in Springdale.

As an abandoned child and young apprentice she received little kindness or guidance from the leaders of Springdale at that time, whom she found stuffy and aloof.

She's much happier now with Orinoko as Prince and a newer more vital barony in place. She's a big fan of the Womble who has done a lot for the city and is the main reason why she remains a citizen.

Aphaia tries hard to ensure that young Springdalians are made to feel more welcome and helped so that they do not suffer the same hardships as herself.

While she is basically kind hearted, she can be mischevious. Although she commits no real evil herself, she has been known to use her skills to aid others carrying out darker deeds...

Her interest in armour and weaponry is well known, and she is keeping a notebook of various experiments carried out in the Imperial Armoury that she hopes to publish some day.

She admires fighters and is eager to arm and equip them in return for smatterings of their knowledge. Although a poor fighter herself she tries never to turn down a challenge and will assist others when she can.

Part of her freedom is to be able to roam anywhere in the land and she is careful not to be enemied to any city or area. She likes to be friendly to whoever she chooses as well.

More important to Aphaia than city or guild is her order. She is a devoted follower of Proteus. This is the key to her nature. The sea washes the shores of many lands, it can be calm or fierce, it is deep, and a lot goes on under the surface.

Lukien's beginning was of a not-so-humble upbringing, being the son of a wealthy land-owner somewhere near the region of Eluesis. Growing up he heard the stories of fame and riches beyond belief, the never-ending battle for power, and even of Gods communicating directly to those of worth. Throughout his youth Lukien never lacked friends with whom to act out his childish, spoiled, games. Never knowing the pains of hunger, or the lonliness of solitude, he came into his teenage years a very sheltered being.

Lukien's first life-changing experience happened at the age of 16. On his father's plantation, a new stable-master was hired, and no one seeing anything more then that people ceased talking about it by the end of the day. A week later, screams of rage and anguish were heard from the plantation in the early hours of the day. Lukien instantly recognized them as the screams of his mother and tore through the house, back to where they had originated: the Stables. Bursting through the door he came upon a room splattered in blood, and the bodies of 3 people: the stable-master, his mother, and his father. Judging by the lack of clothes upon his mother and the stable-master, he was able to determine that his father had walked in upon his mother and the stable-master in the midst of an unforgivable act. What happened next, Lukien could only guess at, but to this day he believes thta his father took their lives, then his own.

Wracked with grief, Lukien boarded himself in his room for days, not answering to anyone, save godmother, Allys. With the help of Allys he recovered the sanity that was almost lost forever, and moved from his father's land, disowning it all, and joined Mercinae.

Because of the trauma Lukien had been through as a teenager, he was left a very troubled being. His first deed that deserves any mention, was joining the Necromancer's guild. Though he tells few this, his driving intent behind this choice was to be able to master death, and through it, life; giving it and taking it from whomever he chose. Lukien threw himself into his profession, soaking up knowledge of the abyss and the afterlife like a greedy sponge. He hungered night and day after the abilities to control life and death, but soon began to lose his morality and all human characteristics. Weaving death for those who chose to thwart him, he made a name for himself among his peers as a fervent, obsessed, fighter that chose not to give up against anyodds. In the midst of this all, his godmother, who had since become his adopted mother, Allys, spirited him away from the lingering taint of darkness that was slowly corrupting him. Lukien recognizing his peril at his current path, denounced the way of the Necromancer and made his way to the Knights guild of Mercinae.

Lukien believes himself a chivalrous defender of his city, battling destructive forces with his body and mind. His obsession with fighting however, has not diminished. If anything, Lukien has siezed the power he now holds and uses it to fuel his addiction even more today. To this day, Lukien still holds himself from the Sadistic whispers in his mind, which unbeknownst to him, are remnants of the Necromancer he once was. This never-ending battle within him constantly effects his actions, often losing his temper and going farther then he should. Lukien hopes one day to be noticed as the extreme of the Merincaen law, dealing death to his precious cities enemies, flirting with Sadism, and giving no quarter to those who seek to harm his friends and family.

Since his parents death Lukien had found no need for friends or loved ones, but now is finding himself becoming close to many of his citymates, and even stops to court a woman of Springdale, whenever her husband isn't around of course...

What the future holds for Lukien, he doesn't know, and frankly doesn't care. He prefers to live in the 'now', making the choices he thinks will affect his life for the greater good of his city now, not just for himself.
