Elmak is a great character in the game.

Some interactions I remember:  The very first time India and a small contingent of Mercinaeans approached Sapience to figure out how to offer our city's egg, Elmak watched our progress and very indulgently helped us out, all in character.  This included dealing with the dragon, Elmak saying, "Just stand over there."

Another time, I was exploring around Jaskar's den when Elmak came through and gave me a lesson in lore that began with him asking, "You know who Jaskar's brother is, don't you?"  He has a very good way of providing Avalon information in character while in the game.

Likes: Easy-going, knows all sorts of things, great listener, and a VERY cuddly Armoured Bear.

Dislikes: Not a one!

Elmak is....quite the character. Sometimes his flippant attitude annoys me (it's not always ok to be cheerful, you know!), but usually he's great for a laugh. He's one of the older crowd, so he's cool to sit back with and play the "Ah, remember when...?" game. It's endearing how he reacts to the most random things (eg his stick trick), and I like how he's able to step back and view his guild and profession as a whole - it makes him a good (if reluctant) leader.

His fighting ability has waned in recent years (he's gone to seed! Bad WoW!), but he's still sharp in the tactics and ideas.

What stick trick?

(he's gone to seed! Bad WoW!)

Well I did finally quit that again (click on Donations! WoW was expensive enough! ;))

The burning brand. Come on, you know which one I mean. You were running around waving your little flaming branch like a schoolboy who's just discovered playboy! :P

Ohhh THAT stick trick... now wait... I was one of the few Mortals to ever even use that! Plus, I've still never discovered Playboy.

One of my best memories of Elmak, was him standing guard over me as I felled a stave as a very little Craftmaster type.  He carefully proceeded to guard Ester as she nervously felled said stave.  I realized later that there wasn't anyone on that was going to do any sort of thing, but it allowed for a nice little interlude where she was informed of all sorts of legends and things.

Dislikes,  Elmak - no offense hun!  gets a bit preachy for Ester when she wants to run around and play.

Elmak, along with being my great uncle(old fart), is a big mentor of mine. He's always been there for me and whenever I needed anything all I had to do was ask. He's taught me alot about Avalonion lore and was the first to get me interested in artifact hunting by showing me that skull mask and leather coat of his. Since then, under his watchful eye, I've grown as a fighter and artifact hunter. I remember when Lord Proteus cleaned out his treasure chamber and Elmak ran me around to get most of the items before Tukar did because he know I was really passionate about studying them. He's also shown me a lot of rare and unique places, such as a nearly long forgotten tower with spires in an old and ruined district in Avalon.

Because he always encouraged me to explore and hunt items, I have been nearly every rare place in Avalon, and a good percentage of it's artifacts have passed through my hands at least once. He's helped me find my place in Avalon as a scribe and enthusiatic learner of lore and tactics. He spoils me from time to time, but I always try to return the favour. :)
You can run....but you'll just die tired.

Cons: The only parts I remember of Elmak, even when I was his GM, was that his head (EGO) was/is inflated.
Was also the cause of the downfall of Rangers... Well Aja helped too! Quite disappointed when he joined Thakria in a fight, alongside a Brigand...

Pros: One of the few rangers that could fight!

While strictly speaking as a sorcerer and a ranger, Elmak and I were each other's antitheses, we always got along rather well, with the occasional scrap usually ending in a frustrating draw! Always on hand to answer that question niggling in the back of your mind, (or get enraged when, rarely, you know something he does not!), I find Elmak to be quite possibly the most knowledgeable person, or should that be bear, in Avalon, he's a great laugh and a loyal friend.

Don't think I have any cons to speak of, apart from the fact Aja is STILL Guildmaster of the Rangers -scold-

When I was hardly more than a tiny twig, just accepted into the animists one of my first memories was of this huge bear wandering into the grove and starting to speak to me. After standing there stunned for a few moments I began to listen as this (in my mind) beast who was sure to eat me at any moment asked why I had chosen animists and listened intently as I responded. Little did I know at the time that the armoured fuzz face would become one of my biggest mentors and a close part of my Avalon family.

From keeping the cubblets off my back and giving me my first nickname (Is that sign still in the grove bar?) to helping me defend my guildhouse and giving me my first solid advice as a young GM, Elmak has been a huge influence in Katie's development as an animist.

My greatest memory of Elmak however is one I hope he is thankful for to this day, else I will have to kick his furry behind. One fateful night I conviced my beloved, and then guildmistress to come up to our tavern for a few well needed drinks after a long week. Soon, more and more friends started drifting in and suddenly we realized that the entire party needed for a much delayed nuptials between Kray and Elmak had gathered in full. When I pointed this out we all rushed off to the forest and as they say, the rest is history.

I will always be proud to call this bear my one and only big brother.

We were guildmates for quite some time. He's a walking encyclopedia when it comes to most things avalonian. Though this does seem to breed that ego people have mentioned. I'd like to see him be GM of the rangers and take a more active role in the land again. Lazy Git.

I have a tremendous amount of respect and admiration for this bear. Always a challenging and fun challenge and besides...who could dislike the one whom has the ability to kill the sapience dragon during egg time?
