Surely you need to divide by total number of weeks since joining Avalon.

(That's how I don't feel too bad about my fairly high position, it all averages out over 10 years  :D )

I ran up 20 lines or so of code and made a spreadsheet for people to check out.

Would like to see that sheet, with an average play time per day, since their Avalon birth date :)

Or indeed the same sheet based on the person playing the character to take into account time spent playing on alts.  It would change things a little I suspect!

Some interesting maths...

20 years * 365 days * 24 hours = 175200 total hours the server has been up (ish)

If you sum the total hours played column you get 2931571 hours.  Avalon has provided roughly 3 million hours of entertainment to people!

Note: This number excludes the very long tail of trail accounts who never got past a few hours of gaming, but hey.

Now, divide total played by total hours of server uptime and you get something that resembles the average concurrent connections for paying players. (paying because we've already cut the long tail of non-paying trials.)  Which is around 17.

Not that you can do much with that number.

The sad part is that I only played for like...what, 5 or 6 years? It -has- to be counting bb time.

One last post... this chart shows the long tail of players... I actually cut it at the first 1000 players (or it just stretches out forever).
