Narissa - bring it on!

I'll throw myself to the lions first, since I started this sub-forum. What do you love, hate, admire, despise, etc about Narissa?

Likes: How she is almost always willing to help the young, no matter what city they're from, which I'd like to see more of, personally. Also love how she's mean and nasty one minute, but can be friendly and jovial the next. (might not be deliberate) *flee*

Dislikes: Hmm, tough one... Makes people feel inadequate? I dunno XD

Narissa

Likes : An affinity with the young that I feel many have tried (and failed) to reproduce. The 'no challenge is too big to overcome' attitude, along with the 'you hurt my kids I slit your throat' personality which everyone is familiar with, and which makes or breaks whether you love, or hate, Narissa.

Dislikes : Temper! GOOD to watch, BAD to experience. Refer to my earlier post about beating the sticks.....

Probably best known for orienting young players while keeping character.  It's always fun interacting with Narissa as the screen suddenly scrolls with prose!

Likes: This girl is hillarious! She's not a half way person, she's either all in something, or all out of it, and when she's all in it, she won't let anyone down.

Dislikes: Can be very rude at times.

I like Narissa's character.  Her all or nothing attitude shows on pretty much everything she does, and honestly, the trouble she's prone to getting in makes me laugh just about every time.  Plus, the RP is always awesome to watch.  Also, I give major props to her work with the little ones.

Dislikes - see, I'm having trouble with this, because as a character, I'm not a fan of Narissa,  So I guess that's a back handed compliment.  If anything, I'd have to say I'd say sometimes the fits of temper can be disproportionate to the event at hand.

Forgot to mention Narissa was HILARIOUS during the last amethyst battle.  She crossed over and fought for Fistandantilus on a side that consisted mostly of Mercinaeans (for reasons I didn't entirely understand) and she found time to throw in some wonderful "arms length" interactions with us.  Mercinae is fairly huggy, and her retreats from such gestures were spot on and wildly funny.

Heh, it was a fun challenge trying to balance suiciding my ass off for the sands with still being disdainful to my teammates. Enjoyed it.

Kinda hard to write about Narissa... I've been around to see her character evolve from when she was a huggy little Springdalian Paladin, through her induction into the Bandits, up till her control of an entire spectrum of Avalon: Order, Guild, and City.

She strives to make the right choices, even if they don't seem correct immediately; and take any consequences therein. I'd also say she's well known for her temper- it stands out at the best of times... and at the worst of times ;D. Despite her mean streak she's definitely got a compassionate side, and is one of the best in Avalon for good, quality roleplaying.

As for Elmak, they've always maintained something resembling a friendship, probably due to the fact that I think they both feel the same way about a lot of issues and ideals in the Lands.

I'm only friendly with him because I'm busy trying to find the best place to insert the knife for skinning. The new armour has me flummoxed... :P

I jest. We're both two of a rather dwindling group of older players - odd to consider myself in that group (if anyone older knows my history, they will know there was a long period of worshiping/hating the old-timers as I was forging my way in as the upstart), but with all the changes, both to skills and to the player base, I guess I'm part of that crowd now in a way. At the least, I can start saying "Back when I was a kid" since there are so many new things and nerfs to old stuff to lament - which Elmak will gladly indulge in with me!

Narissa has really made an impression on me throughout my years. She's done a lot that can be looked at with awe. Thakria is, for instance, the only city i've noticed that gives out gold fighting, or even has their own active city board, thanks to Narissa. She always hosted all sorts of fun competitions and fights when I was younger, and through those means I obtained my very first pouches. I admire her for her humourous nature and intense appreciation of role play, and when I was a Thakrian she brought a lot of fun around with city activities like tearing down Mercinea's front gate and having citizens get involved in explaining what they thought represented Thakria and what it stood for.

One thing I've noticed, is that she can be extremly moody, almost bi-polar at times, but I think that only adds to her character, makes it more unique and notable. I'll never forget Narissa, she's made quite and impact on me and I admire her and look up to  her and try to learn from her to become stronger and more profeccient in my own role.

Well, Mercinae has a city forum now - but it was inspired by the example set by Thakria.

As a sapling, Narissa and I had a few tense (on my part) interactions which developed both a healthy sense of danger from the head thief, and an equal measure of strange admiration. I remember quite clearly when she swiped my trusty jar, much to my protests, only to return it later with a beautiful quote encouraging a young animist to stick to her guns a little more. The jar became a fixture in my brewing carear and I am sure I must have driven her crazy getting her to help me track it down as I lost it time and again. (Speaking of which... it seems to be missing. *cough*)

I think the biggest thing I have learned from Narissa was that the young are truly the life blood of avaon. I consider one of my greatest complements in avalon to be the day a deity referred to me as, "Narissa on happy dust."
