Ratava the Red
« on: December 27, 2007, 12:04:23 PM »
I, Ratava the Red came to consciousness in the park most Central to the city of Thakria. Being new to the land, I was unaware of the whispered rumors of Evil doings within the city, and underwent my initial training and Tutelage in the ways of Avalon under the fated citizenship of the City of Miracles.

Not long after my graduation from the Academy, I was greeted by a cry from across the land by a friend from a time long-forgotten and a land better unspoken of. Fedora, prior to her assumption of the name 'The Green Enchantress' (yea, it was early in her own journey that we were united) called to me and warned me of the rumored Thakrian bent, and offered to lead me from that place to a land where friends could be made, and fun could be had. I was taken to Parrius by Fedora, and eventually Greywolf the Master Enchanter, whose name has been unspoken in Avalon for decades.

It was a difficult journey for the both of us, Fedora barely knowing the way, and I nearly dying from exposure in the mountain ranges we had to cross. Greywolf, responding to a cry for help from Fedora herself, came to protect us from the elements and escort us on the final leg of our journey down the mountains, and eventually into the port-city of Parrius.

Upon arriving in Parrius, I was a mess. I had seen the size of the world, had nearly died, and was struck with wonderment. Because of this, I still can't remember who it was that welcomed me into the ranks of the citizens of Parrius, but do recall that not long after, I was kneeling in front of Lord Trell, Guildmaster of the Warriors guild, and being granted apprenticeship into one of the Greatest guilds on the face of Avalon.

I have followed the Way of the Warrior, dealing with Honor and Chivalry since the first day. I have seen brothers stray from the path and be rewarded with disfavour and probation, and I have seen brothers excel at their abilities and grow by leaps and bounds, but that is another story.

Being a being who lives solidly in both the Avalonian dimension and this one as well, I have had a few long gaps from my time in Avalon, and will probably continue to do so. During one of my shorter gaps from the land, I returned to find my world inverted. Parrius had invaded a small village and been unwilling to admit mistake and leave. For this reason, (And probably not a few personal ones as well) the cities of Mercenae and Thakria, long bitter enemies had joined together to drive Parrius from Coronna, and eventually wage an unfair and ill-conceived war on Parrius itself. Although the War on Parrius was heartily crushed, the issues raised concerning the actions and attitudes of a more than one Parrian Baron rattled painfully within my brain, and sat not-well on my stomach.

Considering that I have much concern for my stomach, and that Fedora now Kinswoman (though how she came to this title, I know not) had relocated to a small town within the Greenwood Forest to follow the call of her Patron Deity, I chose to pull-up my roots and follow her yet again. What wondrous new adventures I may find myself involved in here in the town of Eleusis, I know not. But I do know that soon my skills will be great enough for me to begin my own personnel cleansing of the world of Evil in all of its disguises and personages. I shall soon be seeking the Challenge, so Evildoers beware!! You have not heard the last of Ratava the Red!!!

Some people are like Slinkies. They have no practical use whatsoever, but they still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.
