Folding@Home
« on: December 26, 2007, 08:19:48 PM »
Stanford University has long run the Folding@Home project, which aims to understand protein folding and understand how diseases like Alzheimer's Disease come about and can be cured. It's similar to the Seti@Home many might remember, but doing something more down-to-earth than searching for aliens...

I've run it for a while now, but I'm curious to how much of an impact Avalon could have. If you decide to run Folding@Home, contribute to the Avalon; The Legend Lives team! (#99651)
You can get the client here.

What is this project? My  mother just died of Alzheimer's on the 17th so I'm interested.
I don't suffer from insanity, I enjoy every minute of it.

Folding@Home uses your unused CPU power to analyze proteins. You can read a bit more about it here.
