Character ideas

Starting a new character can be daunting - there is a lot to consider!

- What "flavour" do you want? Good, bad, neutral?
- What personality traits do you want your character to have?
- What is your character's history? What key events or incidents have helped shape their personality?
- What things does your character value? Why, and how does this translate to their actions?
- What things does your character dislike or scorn? Why, and how does this translate to their actions?
- What are your character's ambitions? What do they aspire to achieve?

....etc....

To help think through these things, a few of us are going to be working on an ongoing project to help write up "character sketches," for those new to character creation. You can either use all or some of the ideas listed, and hopefully this will help you make a more interesting, fun identity to play!

I missed this thread when I originally posted my thread (oh no!). I guess I was meant to put it here. At any rate, that's fine. Mine can either be stickied or not (child forum if the project gets big enough, maybe?) and we'll leave discussion like 'what is roleplaying?' or 'how do I deal with non-roleplayers?' there and save the 'character kits' for here. It'll be better organised that way anyway.

Did you ever get round to doing this? I'd be really interested as I think Ajathar needs a bit of character, its been 15 years so its about time!!
