As a long-time player that's been away from the land for many years, I was considering a return. Decided to visit the main website, catch up on recent history, grab a copy of AVPlay and see what was going on.

To my disappointment, I find the main site down. A quick whois search also shows a recent record modification.

Avalon is experiencing a bit of downtime right now that may last anywhere from a few more hours to a couple more days. Genesis is aware of an actively working on the issue with Avalon's ISP to get things back up-and-running as soon as possible. If I hear more, I will update this post accordingly.

I have many fond memories of my adventures in the land and was looking forward to possibly returning after a long absence.

if you're starved for Avalon, why not read some of Ender's advice on these bulletin boards? If you're a dedicated player generally and a fighter specifically he's made some concrete, insightful posts that are quite fun to read.

Where might I find a copy of AVPlay outside of the Avalon web domains? The public ftp server is now requesting a user/pass.

Well game.avalon-rpg.com does not have a web-server on it, so it will not respond. http://avalon-rpg.com works for me, you may need to flush your cache in order to see it.

Hmmm .... clearing cache or even a trying different computer. Still getting the "Critical Announcement: Servers Are Back" message ...
